Well, no, they are no longer custom fit. They come in small, medium and
large. Actually, I think that each section comes in several different sizes,
so that a certain amount of semi-customization is possible by choosing the
correct off-the-shelf helmet, torso, etc, but there are surely limits to
their flexibility.
Another point is that mission specialists also manipulate controls which are
biased toward certain sizes of people. (e.g. the "arm" controls).
The funny thing is, you would think that this whole thing of height would be
much less critical in space--after all, if you are not tall enough to reach
the button, just float up a bit! Maybe that implies that the limitations are
not in space, but in the ground training equipment.
