I recently tried to build LaTeX with the new Mittelbach & Schopf font selection scheme. However, I hit a problem in that IniTeX stopped part way through saying "pool size too small". I know what this means - and I have contacted my suppliers asking for a "bigger" version of TeX - but I am still a bit surprised. The version of TeX I am using (ArchiTeX for the Acorn Archimedes) was built with all the compiled in parameters as big as, if not bigger than, those in TeX - the program. Does LaTeX with the new font selection scheme really require a "bigger than usual" TeX, or am I missing something here?
