[comp.text.tex] book.sty two-sided weirdness

When I LaTeX something with the "book" style, the text comes out
looking backwards.  To be exact, the odd-numbered pages are shifted to
the left, and the even-numbered ones to the right.

Now, for two-sided binding, the odd-numbered pages should be shifted
to the right, and the even-numbered ones to the left, right?  Well, I
can't seem to get this to occur.  I'm using the MOST vanilla code I
can imagine.  But then perhaps I have a limited imagination.

Anybody got any ideas?  Am I just off in deep space?
