I have some EPS files that came out of Adobe Illustrator 88(TM) 1.8.3. I would like to be able to use them with psfig in TeX/LaTex but they seem to have 'stuff' at the front and back of each file. I believe that the files were originally generated on an IBM PC. I am hesitant to try and include an example as there are non-printing characters in the files. If anyone can tell me what I need to do to make these files usable in TeX/LaTeX it would be appreciated. Thanks, -- Dan Ehrlich <ehrlich@cs.psu.edu>/Voice: +1 814 863 1142/FAX: +1 814 865 3176

it sounds as if they were saved with the screen display version still
attached. You are pretty safe in deleting all the non-ASCII stuff from
the head. Your file should start with a line beginning with %! and
have %%BoundingBox shortly thereafter.
