Since the wonderful new font selection scheme for LaTeX makes it so easy, I thought I'd produce a version of one of my document styles using New Century Schoolbook as the text font... Which I did. Unfortunately, justified right margins aren't, quite. This is using dvips538 with the afms distributed with 533, output on what I'm told is an Imagen X308 running ultrascript. The problem is particularly bat if you have lines with the LaTeX logo in them -- I guess somehow the negative kerns are fouling it up? The errors are of the order of a point at the right margin. Has anyone seen this? What do I do to fix it? --tim Tim Bradshaw. Internet: tim%ed.cstr@nsfnet-relay.ac.uk UUCP: ...!uunet!mcvax!ukc!cstr!tim JANET: tim@uk.ac.ed.cstr "... wizzards & inchanters ..."

I have been using dvips and PS fonts with Mittelbach and Schoepf for
some time (to a LaserWriter) for some time, and I have never noticed a
problem. Two thoughts:
- the AFM files that Rokicki used are not necessarily correct for
your Imagen and ultrascript. does that combination guarentee to be
using current Adobe metrics?
- \LaTeX\ depends on CMR, surely? the precise meddling is not correct
for other fonts.
