[comp.text.tex] Weird problem w/ emTeX: preview good, printout bad

xiaofei@acsu.buffalo.edu (Xiaofei Wang) (10/30/90)

Hello, emTeX users --

I have a weird problem with emTeX, I preview a file and that is good,
however when I print it, there are some problems with some mathematical
equations: for example, $X^{\nu}$ on preview becomes $X^{-}$ on
printout. This type of problems happen from the second page. If I
create another file with the problem equations only, it is good both on
preview and on printout. I believe this has something to do with
memory. My collegue with a true IBM computer played with autoexec.bat,
turned off norton utilities, put a /n=50 on prthplj.bat and the problem
was gone. I, with a Zenath Data system, tried everything he tried, but
nothing worked. Any one knows what is the exact cause of the problem
and the solution? Thanks.

There's a bug in dvihplj which have been fixed in version 1.4c.
Sometimes the /fl-1 option solves the problem with versions prior
to 1.4c.
