These problems probably have been resolved here before, but I ask anyway. Here it goes: I am currently running TEX 2.9 version on Ultrix 4.0/DECsystem 5810. We are going to order the TEX 3.0 soon. Hopefully, all the pain will go away afterward. I am in the final stage of making my texx display sample.dvi on X terminal, but unfortunately not readable (it's using the 300 dpi fonts). Someone mentioned the fonts for X window display should use the less dpi font (what fonts should it use, and could I create them? I presume it go through metafont program.), but I only have more complete 300 dpi fonts in my site; I have little 118, 200, and 240 sets of fonts. In fontdesc, how could you direct to another less dpi font area(I presume you set the directory in the last field of fontdesc; I have no hands of fontdesc)? How do we make the less dpi fonts through virmf, says 75 dpi for X termina?, I tried it by "virmf '&cmplain /mode=localfont;' input cmti10"; it only made 200gf fonts. Any comments are greatly appreciated. Allen Email: tsai@usdcsv.acusd.edu University of San Diego -- .attlib/terminfo/1/1520 -rw-r--r-- bin bin 42668 ./usr/.attlib/terminfo/1/1521 -
