I've recently purchased a Hewlett-Packard DeskWriter. While I was able to make the dvi72im work with my old ImageWriter II (albeit very slowly), I cannot seem to make it work with the DeskWriter. I am using version 1.8.3 of dvim72 on a MacSE and using the standard 300 dpi PK fonts which came with OzTeX 1.3. I am interested in hearing directly from others who have been successful. What settings do you use? Please e-mail me and I'll summarize. For general info, OzTeX is the free version of TeX for the Macintosh (which only has printing options for PostScript printers) and dvim72 is a DVI printer which works with ImageWriter (and theoretically other QuickDraw) printers. -Peter "Want to TeX my Mac" Marvit : Peter Marvit Hewlett-Packard Labs in Palo Alto, CA (415) 857-6646 : : Internet: <marvit@hplabs.hpl.hp.com> uucp: {any backbone}!hplabs!marvit :

I have also been having problems getting OzTeX & DVIM72 to print to my DeskWriter. I've been trying to use the version of DVIM72 that was distributed with OzTeX 3.0, which is 1.8.1; it acts as though it's imaging the page correctly, but then prints one blank page for each page of the document. It also displays a message "magnification 1500" at the start of the process, but OzTeX believes it's going at magnification 1000. I'm pretty sure I've set up DVIM72 correctly to print to a 300 dpi printer, but given the scanty documentation, it's hard to tell. I'm currently using a Mac Plus with 2.5 MB RAM, System 6.0.5 (DVIM72 is getting 1536K under MultiFinder), but I'm about to get a IIsi...
