The release version of dvips 5.4 is on labrea.stanford.edu and neon.stanford.edu, in ~ftp/pub. The files are: dvips54.tar.Z - includes dvips source, PSlatex. dvipslib.tar.Z - includes VF and TFM files for PS fonts dvipsafm.tar.Z - includes AFM files for common PS fonts This is the *release* version---I do not plan further changes. If any bugs are found and fixes must be made, they will be released as diff files and only as diff files. This version has been in beta test for six months and I've invested massive amounts of time (as have the beta testers and other contributors.) I am always happy to answer any questions, but I will no longer answer any questions about versions prior to 5.4; if you are using dvips, get 5.4. This version includes a 32-page manual; please read the manual carefully before asking questions. (A ps version of the manual is available in the same places as dvips.ps.Z; it should print on virtually anything.) Please distribute this version of the program as widely as possible. No major changes or new features will be added until summer of 1991, earliest. Enjoy! -tom
