This is probably an easy question, and I have solved this problem a long time ago, but can't remember what I did. We just installed TeX and LaTeX on our NeXT machine (Release 1.0 on the NeXT and version 2.09 of LaTeX) and now, when I say "latex filename" in which the filename is a document of style "article", it says it can't find the file "article.sty". Apparently is doesn't know where the inputs are located. I set the TEXINPUTS environment variable, but that didn't do any good. I'm sure someone else has run into this problem. What's the solution? Simply make sure that the files in the entire /usr/lib/tex and /usr/lib/mf directory trees are world readable. (NeXT, 1.0). -tom
