For those interested in obtaining (ITC) Garamond fonts and others, Karl Berry has graciously corrected the Waterloo fonts (from mims-iris.waterloo.edu) and made his corrected versions available at ftp.cs.umb.edu (192.12.26.4) in pub/tex/waterloo.tar. Last week, I asked how one obtains PostScript pfb fonts for the Stone, Optima, and Garamond families. The answer: you pay for them. Justin Bur provided me with the following information: > Adobe Systems, Inc. 1-800-83-FONTS. Ask for the PC version (rather > than Macintosh), if you intend to use the fonts only with dvips. > (Macintosh-format Adobe fonts can be converted quite easily but it's > a bit messy.) There seems to be a consensus that the PostScript fonts are nicer than the ITC versions, however the price for the latter cannot be beaten.
