From: Rich Wales <v.wales@UCLA-LOCUS> How thorough a search has been made to date for intelligence-bearing radio signals from possible planets orbiting Alpha Centauri A or Alpha Centauri B? Seemingly both of these stars are enough like our Sun that one or both could have planets with "life as we know it". If we did succeed in picking up and identifying intelligent signals from this system, the fact that it is only a little more than 4 light years from Earth seems to open up the real possibility of two-way communication. The only problem I can think of off the top of my head is that radio equipment for such a project would have to be located in the Southern Hemisphere. -- Rich <v.wales@UCLA-LOCUS>
