The Unix TeX distribution doesn't say all that much about X11 support, other than that it exists. I've compiled just about everything I've needed to without too many problems, and MF seems to work fine otherwise. However, when I use the "showit" command, absolutely nothing happens. Not a burp, not a twitch. Yet all the source in ./TeX3.0/mf/MFwindow compiled properly (to all appearances), and window.a in the same directory seems to have gotten made. What am I missing? An environment variable? An X resource? Or is this actually hosed somewhere else? I'm running it on a DECstation 3100 running Ultrix 3.0 and X11r3.
