[comp.text.tex] where to find amr8.mf??

rodney@rpi.edu (Rodney Peck II) (12/20/90)

I have some files that want to use amr10 and amr8. Strangely, I have
the tfm files for these fonts, but not the mf files. I remember there
being somewhere on the tape that says to get them from someplace else,
but there are tons of files, and grepping all of them for a pattern that
might not be right is rather pointless.

So, here's hoping that someone out there can tell me where to find amr8.mf
and amr10.mf -- pk files would be ok, but the mf files are better.

Use cmr10 and cmr8 instead. The AM fonts are the obsolete Almost
Computer Modern family (on the way to the current CM (final) Computer
Modern fonts). If I remember correctly, they were written in the old
METAFONT in SAIL, and thus there are, and have never been, any
corresponding *.mf files.
