Can anyone direct me to an FTP site from which I can obtain a precompiled version of dvips54 for msdos?

Try: anonymous ftp to monu1.cc.monash.edu.au, directory pub, file dvips54.zip. The file dvipslib.zip is also needed if you wish to use postscript fonts. But if you have TurboC 2.0 or TurboC++ 1.0 (or MicroSoft C after some small changes to the pc/makefile.tc) you can easily compile it yourself because there is a makefile.tc in the directory dvips/pc! And this has the benefit of having the sources in case all else fails! --Piet

Just a warning for the people who are searching for the new version(ver.5.4). The above one is old one(ver. 5.399 or ver 5.4 B). I spent lot of time in downloading this and found that it is the same one that I got 6 months ago. Moreover, the zip files are not organized. If you are going to ftp the 5.4 beta version, I recommend you to ftp terminator.cc.umich.edu rather than ...ohio.... Does anyone know where the new dvips54 (not Beta verion) binaries for MS-DOS are ?
