I am trying to install sb30tex, which I ftp'ed from simtel20.
I have unzipped everything and set my environment vars, etc.
I then do
initex plain \dump,
which creates plain.fmt, which is 72486 bytes.
When I try to use this fmt file, for exmample
tex &plain foo
or
tex foo
I get an error message Fatal format file error: I'm stymied.
I have tried this entire process several times, using both
the default directory structure, as well as my "normal" one
and get the same results. I've started from scratch, unzipping the
archive, etc.
I even tried
initex plain \input sb30.doc
which gave me a dvi file exactly the same size as created
by an older version of micro-tex. So, it would seem that
initex is in fairly good shape, or else the bug is just in the
dump routine.
Anyway, has anyone got a pointer on this? have you seen this before?
Thanks
