[comp.text.tex] two column examples.

david@dogmelb.dog.oz.au (David Le Blanc) (01/09/91)

Within the LaTeX manual by Leslie Lamport, all or most of the examples
are done is a two column format, using typewriter style on the left
and bold on the right, extending into the margin AWAY from the book
binding.

Does anyone know how, or have a macro/example of this being done?

I can easily get two columns, via the twocolumn macro or using
parbox/minipage, but I cannot get LaTeX to release the margin within
a small vertical space. If I breach the margin, I get a plethora
of warnings, and I cannot control which margin gets breached
(Ie, its always the right side margin)

Cheers
