SLVQC@CUNYVM.BITNET (Salvatore Saieva) (01/16/91)
I posted the message below almost two weeks ago and I haven't seen any followup replies to the problem, so, I'm posting again. If anyone can provide any help, it would be very much appreciated. Also, I'm looking for VMS .hlp files for TeX (v3.1), MF (v2.7), and other TeXware programs (ie: gftodvi, gftopk, dvitype, etc); I am using change files from Don Hosek and Brian {Hamilton} Kelly. If any are available it would save me the time of creating my own. If it should turn out .hlp files aren't available, I can post my creations. Here's my last post. Thanks, Sal. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I've FTPed the change file for MF from ymir.claremont.edu. Everything compiles and runs properly under our VMS system except for MF's setting of the JOBSIZE_SYMBOL. Take a look at the problem, here is a sample run: VaxA. mf "\mode:=lnthree; input logo10" This is METAFONT, Version 2.7 [PD VMS 2.1a] (preloaded base=plain 91.1.2) (PUBDISK:[SAIEVA.YMIR.MF.INPUTS]LOGO10.MF;1 (PUBDISK:[SAIEVA.YMIR.MF.INPUTS]LOGO.MF;1 [77] [69] [84] [65] [70] [79] [78]) ) Font metrics written on PUBDISK:[SAIEVA.YMIR.MF]LOGO10.TFM;3. Output written on PUBDISK:[SAIEVA.YMIR.MF]LOGO10.300GF;2 (7 characters, 808 byt es). Transcript written on PUBDISK:[SAIEVA.YMIR.MF]LOGO10.LIS;5. VaxA. sh sym mf* MF_JOBNAME == "logo10" MF_JOBSIZE == "logo10" VaxA. According to the documentation for mf.ch, MF_JOBSIZE should contain the value 300, ie, the numeric portion of the gf file which it writes. I'm using mf.cld but I haven't yet modified the command tables; I'm currently defining the MF verb by using SET COMMAND MF when I login. We are running VMS 5.3. Does this valuable feature work on anyone else's system?
