It is true that FrameMaker output is not EPSF---but Frame themselves do not claim it is, and they deny any support for using output from their package as input to any other software but a PostScript interpreter; this includes importing their stuff into another package such as TeX. But there is a way to get things to work. You need a relatively recent version of dvips (5.45 or later, I think) and, when you save the document, save it as a strange page size, like 4'' by 4''. If the FRAME prolog recognizes the page size as a `standard' page size, it executes the device-dependent page initialization operator (such as `letter') which blows everything else away. You may still need to tweak the bounding box of the resulting figure by measuring the figure with a ruler or some other equally gross method, but it does work. I would recommend calling or writing Frame and suggesting that they support EPSF output, but the nicer you are about it the more likely they will listen. They are good people, but they are trying to do an awful lot and they have to select priorities. -tom
