As promised yesterday, Michael Doob's "A Gentle Introduction to TeX" is now
available at FILESERV@SHSU.BITNET. I am working on getting "Essential
LaTeX" up next; Darrell McCauley was kind enough to point out its omission
and provided me with a copy. A post will follow once that is accomplished.
If you can think of anything else for reference which is in the public
domain, please let me know so I can make it available as well.
Below is the descriptive result from a LIST GENTLE command sent to FILESERV.

GENTLE
------
The GENTLE package includes the files necessary to rebuild Michael Doob's "A
Gentle Introduction to TeX". To facilitate mailing, it is distributed in 15
parts, each labelled GENTLE.xxOF15. On receipt, simply extract the files and
concatenate them in proper sequence, and TeX the file. Thanks are extended to
the author, Michael Doob, Department of Mathematics at the University of
Manitoba, for providing permission to post this here for your use.
You may retrieve the entire package of 15 files by MAILing the command:
SENDME GENTLE
to FILESERV@SHSU.BITNET. Processing this document requires all 15 files, so
this command is suggested. If, for some reason, you should only need one of
these files, say number 12, use the command: SENDME GENTLE.12OF15 in your
MAIL message to FILESERV.
