[comp.text.tex] Problem with DVIPS on TurboPS/400 laser printer

schlebbe@azu.informatik.uni-stuttgart.de (Heribert Schlebbe) (02/14/91)

We recently got a TurboPS/400 laser printer of NewGen Systems Corporation.
The printer works fine with PostScript output generated by SunWrite or
Framemaker, but when printing DVIPS output there is an error message in its
log file:

   %%[error: typecheck; command: setfont;
      message: (setfont - needs font dictionary)]%%
   %%[flushing %stdin: data until end-of-file will be ignored]%%

We are using DVIPS version 5.47 with the standard header file tex.pro of the
same version included. The log file of a DVIPS run looks like this:

   This is dvips 5.47 Copyright 1986-91 Radical Eye Software
   ' TeX output 1991.02.12:1211' -> test.ps
   <tex.pro>. [1]

There is no error message neither when previewing the file with Ghostscript
nor when printing it on an Apple LaserWriter II/NTX.

Does anyone have any experience with DVIPS on a TurboPS/400 printer?

Thanks in advance for advice.
