I read recently about someone who was rewriting the siam.sty file.
In his note he mentioned one changes: that of supressing the extra space
that LaTeX places aroud the equal signs of eqnarray. I have been writing
a style file for our technical reports and would like to incorporate such a
change. COuld you e-mail me, or post the relevant changes.
While I'm at it there is something else that I would like to incorporate.
In SIAM journals, whenever an array appears in the text, the matrix is
typeset in a smaller font so as to not increase undly the interline spacing.
Have you implemented such a change? My problem is that I have some macros,
say
\newcommand{\twobyone}[2]{\left[\ba{c}#1\\ #2\ea\right]}
which I would like to use at all times. I'd like to modify it so that whenever
this appears in math mode (as opposed to display math) this gets type set in
a smaller font.
Thanks in advance
Pablo
