I'm a happy user of shadow.sty for creating "shadow boxes" around things:- % % File: SHADOW.STY % (adapted from the file dropshadow.tex by drstrip@cd.sandia.gov) % % Creation date: 6 June 1990 but I cannot work out how to make it work around a picture environment. Our local documentation for users here has a "house style" of a boxed heading which we have managed to generate in the picture environment like this:- > \unitlength 1in > \begin{picture}(6.5,1.5) > \thicklines > \put(0,0.5){\framebox(2.5,1) { > \parbox{2in}{\large {\bf \hspace{0.2in}university of keele \\ > \mbox{}\hspace{0.2in}computer centre } } } } > \put(2.5,0.5){\framebox(2,1) { > \parbox{2in}{\large {\bf\hspace{0.2in}draft user guide\\ > \mbox{}\hspace{0.2in}issue 1 \\ > \mbox{}\hspace{0.2in}feb 91 }} } } > \put(4.5,1){\framebox(2,0.5) { > {\large {\bf SUN}} } } > \put(4.5,0.5){\framebox(2,0.5){ > {\large {\bf ARC/INFO}} }} > \put(0,0){\framebox(6.5,0.5) > {\large {\bf Using ARC/INFO in the Computer Centre}} } > \end{picture} but what I really want is a shodow box round around the whole lot. Any ideas? many thanks, gerry ps BTW \fbox around this picture environment does work OK. -- gerry pratt -- workstation support -- university of keele email: gerry@seq1.keele.ac.uk * tel: 0782 621111 x 3290 "these opinions are mine, mine, mine....ALL MINE I TELL YOU!"
