[comp.text.tex] AMS-LaTeX files now available at FILESERV

bed_gdg@SHSU.BITNET ("George D. Greenwade") (02/19/91)

Just finished putting in place the AMS-LaTeX file set from the American
Mathematical Society for access at FILESERV. Below is the AMSTEX
description file which would be generated by a LIST AMSTEX command sent to
FILESERV.

Regards, George

                                  AMSTEX
                                  ------
The AMSTEX package includes the files comprising the American Mathematical
Society's AMS-LaTeX Version 1.0 Distribution of August 1990. It is
distributed in 28 parts, each labelled AMSTEX.filename. None of the files
in this directory have been split for mailing purposes -- they will be
transmitted in whole, as indicated below. On receipt, please extract the
files to the name indicated on the first line of each part. Note that, at
present, this distribution does not include the AMSFonts distribution.

The file AMSTEX.READ_ME outlines which files are included in the
distribution, where they should be retained for use, and provides the syntax
under which the files should be retained. Basically, the extensions to the
root filename AMSTEX indicate the name the file should be saved as, with an
underscore character replacing the dot. Thus, the file AMSTEX.THP_STY
would be saved as THP.STY.

You may retrieve the entire package of 28 files by MAILing the command:
SENDME AMSTEX
to FILESERV@SHSU.BITNET. A complete distribution of this version of
AMS-LaTeX requires all 28 files, so this command is suggested. If, for some
reason, you should only need one of these files, say AMSTEX.THP_STY, use the
command: SENDME AMSTEX.THP_STY in your MAIL message to FILESERV.
