bed_gdg@SHSU.BITNET ("George D. Greenwade") (02/23/91)
After looking through back issues of TeXhax (and investigating a few sources, receiving submissions, and other things), I have added a few new files to our growing LaTeX style collection available on FILESERV. Note that we do not have most of the "standard" styles out there (yet), such as ART12.STY. For the most part, our collection is of specialized styles right now. To avoid having to continually send the command DIRECTORY STY to FILESERV@SHSU.BITNET (this is getting to be a large file), below is a list of files added or revised since February 1, 1991. Note that a few of these have appeared previously, such as STY.SUBEQN1. The reason for the double appearance is that they include a fix of a prior problem, but do not otherwise alter the behavior of the style. These fixes were lifted from other sources, but have been tested to verify that the command syntax is not different, nor is the general behavior different -- just a prior bug (which may not be apparent or even relevant to your specific application) is now addressed. Naturally, my local test is not exhaustive of all possibilities, so the "fix" is not warranted, but does correct the bug identified. To retrieve any of these files, such as STY.A4DUTCH, please MAIL the command SENDME STY.A4DUTCH to FILESERV@SHSU.BITNET. The first line of each file you receive back via e-mail informs you what name to save the file as (recall, we use reverse-name syntax on this collection; STY.A4DUTCH should be saved as A4DUTCH.STY locally!). FILESERV support multiple commands, so long as each command resides on a unique line of the MAIL message. Also, these requests should be addressed to FILEserv@SHSU.BITNET and *not* to listserv. If you have a style or macro to contribute to our collection, please send it to STY-Mgr@SHSU.BITNET. If you have written a style for a particular use, it is highly likely that someone else has that same use in mind (and if others get your style and fix a bug, your life may be much better; I know this from personal experience -- you have seen my posts and subsequent fixes from others on INFO-TeX). Two quick final comments: (1) HANGCAPTION is something which anyone who works with long captions in LaTeX's table or figure environment needs to have! (2) Previous versions of the description file incorrectly listed the file STY.TAPE_EXAMPLE.BUM; it should be STY.TAPE_EXAMPLE_BUM (the example album dabase for TAPE.STY).
