Forgive me... I'm not a TeX user and a friend asked if I would post this query. My friend is interested in buying a PC program called VTeX. The price I heard was something like $300. I noticed in the Programmer's Paradise Catalogue that PCTex 3.0 (Personal Tex, Inc.) cost about $230. I'd appreciate help/suggestions (outright public shaming) about products for IBM-type PC's.
