We've just started using Rokicki's dvips v5.47 here, and so far I really like it (compared to dvi2ps). However, LaTeX still has problems with ligatures and compound characters, such as \AA. The macros in lplain.tex work just fine with CM fonts, but occasionally misplace the diacriticals with PostScript font. SO, my question is: has anybody cobbled together macros which select the pre-ligatured "accented" characters from the Adobe PS fonts when appropriate, or assembles the characters from the pieces (if there is no defined ligatured/accented character, or if you're not in a PS font)? e.g. \AA{}ngstrom will do the Right Thing in both CMR and in Times. advTHANKSance. -- John Kohl <jtkohl@ATHENA.MIT.EDU> or <jtkohl@MIT.EDU> Digital Equipment Corporation/Project Athena (The above opinions are MINE.
