I am still having problems compiling parts of the TeX3.0 distribution and would appreciate any help. In particular, the file TeX3.0/mfware/gftodvi.c fails to compile with an error: "gftodvi.c", line 2280: yacc stack overflow On the kind suggestions of others I have tried the following with no success: (1) adding to the following "defines" to web2c/web2c.yacc #define YYMAXDEPTH 600 #define YYMAXLIMIT 2000 (2) applying the patch suggested in the PROBLEMS file. Neither of these fixes succeed in making the "gftodvi" file compilable. The first approach results in the very same error. This leads me to susspect that parser generated by the web2c.yacc input file is not related to the above error. But if it is not, I am lost entirely for an explanation since the web2c.yacc file is the *only* yacc file in the entire distribution. The second approach (applying the patch from the PROBLEMS) file results in a syntax error. Note that the patch comes from a older PROBLEMS file than the unix3.0/TeX3.0 distribution I am using. The PROBLEMS file in the version I am using does not even mention this gftodvi.c error (as if it was no longer a problem). Note I am using the /pub/tex/unix3.0 stuff from labrea.standford.edu on a uVAXx 3900 running Ultrix 4.0. I believe that this is the Unix TeX3.0 package from cs.washinton.edu. Has anyone got this stuff to compile on a simluar setup and if so, HOW? Many thanks, - Joe Bush -- bush@evax.uta.edu Vax Systems Manager (817) 273 - 3333 CSE Dept.
