> I'm looking for public domain import/export filter (if one ever exists) > which can convert FrameMaker document to/from LaTeX/TeX Since there are a couple of people interested in this subject, so I post the summary: 1. LaTeX -> FrameMaker la2mml will convert LaTeX to FrameMaker mml format which is available via anonymous ftp from godot.uvic.ca (128.189.66.5). I include here part of README file: The program is known to run on Sun-3 and Sun-4 platforms, and on the Macintosh. The Sun-3 & Sun-4 installation requires access to the Gnu C compiler, or else you will have to edit source files to remove use of ANSI-C function prototypes. The Macintosh installation requires use of LightSpeed C (also known as Think C), version 4.0. The program is offered as shareware. If you think the program is worth U.S.$40 in saved time, please edit the invoice, supplied as the LaTeX file `invoice.tex', to show your institution's name and address. Convert the invoice to Frame- Maker format, print it out, and pass it on to your accounts department. 2. FrameMaker -> WordPerfact -> LaTeX or FrameMaker -> Troff -> LaTeX I didn't have any information on filter which will convert FrameMaker directly to LaTeX. But in theory, using agent format to gap them should work. Unfortunely, I don't have Frame-WP or Frame-Troff filters here to see if it works ok or not. You can get FilterPak from Frame which includes site license for filtering WordPerfect5.0, troff, DCA, interleaf, IGES, HPGL, CalComp960, DXF, CGM, CCITT Group 4 and MacDraw. The price in US is 995 dollars. They won't sell them separately. I think you may be able to buy FrameMaker filters separately from Blueberry Software (A FrameMaker third party software house), but I'm not sure. You should be able to get the phone number from Frame's sales reps. That's all I have so far. Hungtau Ting XAIT 617-499-4482 ting@xait.xerox.com
