I recently made a pleasant discovery: the UK TeXServer@TeX.AC.UK is
functioning. I found the service impossible to use the last time I
tried it (maybe a year ago?) and am glad to see it working now. If
this is old news, accept my appologies for wasting bandwidth.
The primary reason that the server was previously unusable for
Bitnetter's like myself was that you were responsible for providing
the appropriate return address. The return address from TeX.AC.UK
to a US Bitnet node is a really horendous beast and I could never
get it right. This restriction has been removed and the server now
correctly deduces your (well, mine at least) return address from
the mail headers.
I have a copy of the usage notes for the mail-server that I would
be happy to forward to anyone interested. (George: is it on the
Info-TeX fileserver?).
