Could someone who has used the 24pin dot matrix driver help, please ! I have the DVIPAN from SIMTEL20 together with SBTeX. The driver works ok except it will not pour the output directly to the printer, instead, to the FILE.P18 file. For a DVI file of 13K the P18 file is 236K ! This is very inconvenient since I cannot produce the P18 from one machine and print it on another one ! Then I switch to emTeX since I thought that the 24 pin driver uses the low resolution and in SBTeX I have the 300dpi resolution. In emTeX one has to install another 3.5M of dot matrix fonts. The DVIDOT from emTeX will not use the 300dpi fonts. And it seems that DVISRC won't use the dot matrix font. Also, the output from DVIDOT also is as big as the one from DVIPAN (>230K). Obviously, I'm doing something wrong or I'm just so damn confuse here ! My questions are: Can I direct the DVPPAN file to the printer ? Can I ask DVIDOT to use the 300dpi fonts (or is it recommended ?) Can I reduce the file size of both DVIPAN or DVIDOT ? Thanks in advance. Minhhuy H\^o Queen's University Kingston, ON Canada
