I come, as usual, bearing troubles with TeX. I am trying to finish my thesis and LaTeX has dealt me a few annonying errors which I cannot seem to figure out. Hopefully someone out in netland will see this and say, "Hey, that's easy. It's like this..." 1. \end occurred in level 1 What does this mean? I have an unpaired \begin ? Is it possible to track this down? I have looked in the log but no reference is made. 2. \it in \label for figure causes errors with \protect and \csname All I want is to italicize a word in my label and caption, and LaTeX gives me this grief. Should I not try this? 3. Anybody figured out how to gracefully break figures and tables across pages? Any suggestions are appreciated. Harrison sharp@snuffleupagus.csd.scarolina.edu
