Is there a robust tags facility for TeX (and LaTeX etc), i.e. for a given \controlsequence in context, find the file where it was defined. "grep" and its ilk are often not good enough, both because a given control sequence may be defined in many files, and because there are many nonobvious ways to define a macro. A robust solution would be built into TeX itself, some record that the current binding of \foo was last modified while reading "line XX of file FFFF". This would memory hungry, but useful for debugging and modifying packages. -- Michelangelo Grigni 253-1365 NE43-346
