Ok, it finally happened. On generating the Old English fonts recently announced here, my MF286 gave up the ghost and spat out that bane of all novice TeX'ers: "memory exceeded" and "contact a wizard" I tried chanting, hanging around in Occult bookstores and even got sucked in to buying some large pink crystal that alledgedly opens astral pathways, but still no luck. Upon slaughtering a goat, I saw in the entrails this message: "Post to comp.text.tex" :-) This is what I have: a 286 clone box running msdos 3.3, emTeX's MF286, no expanded or extended memory above the 640k. On a whim, I tried making more RAM available by removing some devices and also tried the documented /ms string memory switch (which was rejected by MF!), but I still ran out of memory with the notice that I had 5000 pages (?). I have a nasty feeling from other trials that I will need to regenerate my entire font set and I was hoping MF would be an easy process. If there are any msdos-emTeX-MF wizards reading this, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. -- o| Gary Murphy |o |------------------------------------------------------------------------| o| uunet!mitel!cunews!cognos!garym garym%cognos.uucp@ccs.carlton.ca |o | Cognos Inc.
