Andrew Trevorrow typing... I'm back in Oz (a little thinner and a lot happier) and plan to do some work on OzTeX 1.4 over the next few months. The main tasks I hope to complete are: 1. Support for non-PostScript printers. There'll be a new config file parameter that indicates what sort of printer is currently in use. 2. Support for previewing and printing of PICT/MacPaint/EPSF files via TeX's \special command. For example: \special{pict: foo.pict} \special{pntg: foo.pntg} \special{epsf: foo.epsf} For compatibility with existing \special commands, the following two lines show equivalent ways of including a "raw" PS file: \special{ps: foo.ps} \special{foo.ps} If anybody has other ideas for improving OzTeX or bug reports then now's the time to get in touch. Send email to nks661@csc1.anu.edu.au. Andrew

I'd like to see automatic metafonting of missing fonts (like dvips
does). This would also imply a Metafont that doesn't require the
Programmer's Workbench (which most people don't have).
A LaserJet driver that downloads fonts instead of (as far as I can
tell) preparing whole-page bitmaps offline would be nice, too. (I
have a LJ IIP on a 9600 baud serial link--can you say S L O W?)
