I'm trying to find out what fonts are available on/with our TeX
installation. I've looked in the fonts directory and see many *.tfm
files, and in the fonts/pk directory there are some corresponding
(more or less) *.pk### files.
My questions:
1) is there an easy way to determine what fonts are available?
2) sometimes the dvi2ps program will try to call MetaFont to create
a pk file. does this mean that i should probably go through and
create these?
3) how do i create a corresponding pk file for a tfm file?
The system I'm using is a Sun 4/490, SunOS 4.1.1, with TeX 3.0.
thanks for any help,
