I am seeking help in my never-ending quest to use TeX with PostScript fonts. I have two reasons for this: 1) I prefer the appearance of the PostScript fonts to the Computer Modern fonts. 2) It is much more convenient for me to use PostScript fonts with ATM on my Macintosh than to store all of those bitmaps for the Computer Modern fonts. Anyway, I am currently using PS-LaTeX. It is does well on text, only fair on equations. I still need to have the cmex font from the cm family. Here are my questions: 1) Is PS-LaTeX the current state of the art in using PostScript fonts with LaTeX? 2) The biggest problem with my current setup is that the PostScript fonts don't seem to subscript properly. They go two far down. Can anyone tell me what my problem is? Is it PS-LaTeX? My .tfm files? 3) I've tried unsuccessfully to get mf2ps to work on my system, but I can't figure it out. Would anyone be so kind as to send me the ps version of cmex? I have access to a Type 3 to Type 1 utility. I'd gladly give out the Type 1 version if someone would send me the mf2ps output. Thanks for any help. --Jim Amundson
