I've jsut begin using AMS-LaTeX, which uses the new font selection scheme, and I'm wondering if there is a simple way to invoke a new font for one or two mathematical symbols (for example, a cyrillic shah, or a script letter from eusm10, or a gothic letter from yswab) without going through the whole process of defining a new font, family, etc. The symbol would most likely be used in one size only. In the same vein, how would one call the "yinit" fonts described in the latest Tugboat? I guess I'm looking for the equivalent (analogue?) of \newfont under the new scheme.
