[comp.text.tex] Need help including Mac PostScript in LaTeX documents

I am cross-posting to comp.lang.postscript with follow-ups set
to comp.text.tex.

I have what appears to be a common problem, but I have not found an
answer yet. If anyone has the vaguest notion of something to try,
please suggest it! I'm getting desperate!

I have a user that draws all his figures on the MacII, and does all
his documents in LaTeX (TeX 3.0, LaTeX 2.09) on a Sun3 running SOS4.1.
Until recently he's been doing cut-n-paste, but now he needs to
combine them for an electronic submission. We can't get it to work.

I'm using dvi2ps v. 3.1, a mac-prolog trapped off our generic MacII
(LaserPrep 5.2), and I have tried dvips (v. 545), but it doesn't like
the /special's. I can print the macps'ed figure, and if I go in and
just copy the PageBoundingBox info into the BoundingBox, I can get
LaTeX to process the file, but then I get a weird assortment of errors.
I know that dvi2ps works because I use it weekly with fig2dev'ed
stuff.

Errors from the LaserWriter Plus include (but are not limited to)

%%[ Error: VMerror; OffendingCommand: imagemask ]%%
%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: endTexFig ]%%

Errors from the Imagen's running UltraScript include (but not limited to)

	%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: P2_b ]%%

and something about a paper type "LT" not found.

Errors vary depending on which figure I am trying to print and the
phase of the moon...

I am NOT a PostScripter, (tho my boss says I'm about to be) so please
be kind in use of jargon.

Thank you in advance,
