[comp.text.tex] Where are AMS msbm fonts ?

pvoirol@eagle.wesleyan.edu (05/01/91)

Hi,
We downloaded TeX (C Version) 3.0 from labrea.
Installation was easy (great job, guys!) but we cannot print the amstex
documents included (which according to the doc should be straightforward).
The system complains about missing 'msbm' fonts... I checked the .tfm's, we
have msam but not msbm.

Did we get a uncomplete version, or what ? Has anybody else had the problem ?
How did you solve it ? Where can I download AMS fonts ? (So many questions!)

Thanks in advance for any info.

Philippe

We had the same problem. It seems, at least this version is incomplete
(or was, I didn't check again). We got the amsfonts from elsewhere (I
think it was a Bitnet-Server). It seems to be for MS-Dos, because it
is in a zoo-file and uses CR-LF in text files. If you don't find
an other (and nearer) way you can get it by anon. ftp from
ftp.informatik.tu-muenchen.de [131.159.0.110]: pub/tex/metafonts/amsfonts.zoo
(that's about 700 K)

Hi.

You should be able to find them on e-math.ams.com.
