I am done writing my thesis (Ph.D., in case it matters) in Latex using
a thesis macro (which is a modified 12pt book style) developed at another
university. My thesis coordinator wants me to make certain changes in the
style due to which I need to modify the macro. Changes have to be the
following:
1) Section numbers should be of the type 2.2.1. and not 2.2.1 , i.e.
I need to have that extra period in the end.
2) Change the typesize of the captions of figures and tables. Instead of
keeping it the same size as the regular text, captions need to be written
in footnotestyle.
3)Right now every page of the text has the name of the section on the top
left side of the page. I need to get rid of it, i.e. I don't need anything
other than the pagenumber on the header of the text pages.
4) There should be triple spacing between the last line of the previous
section and the heading of a new section.
5) There should be double spacing between the heading of a section and the
first line of the text which follows.
I will appreciate any help on as to how and where I can go about making
these changes in the macro. The thesis macro that I mentioned above is
written in Tex. I will appreciate if people could send me their replies
over the e-mail, because the news_server at our site is very flaky and it
takes about 2-3 days for a new posting to appear, if at all.
thanks in advance
