I'm trying to print a latex document with Mac generated postscript figures in it (specifically, it's the documentation for the xlispstat package). The README file sez: "The psfig system is used to include Macintosh postscript figures. Getting this stuff to print is a nuissance; with our LaserWriter and dvi to postscript conversion tool I use the command dvi-ps -r -i dvifix.ps -i mac68.pro -i figtex.pro techreport |lpr -Pps to print things out; with a different dvi to postscript urility you may need to use a different approach." Indeed so. I have version 3.1 of Coombes' dvi2ps which comes with its own version of psfig. I've tried various combinations of the psfig stuff which came with xlispstat and dvi2ps and can't get the latex doc to print properly; the closest I can come is when dvi2ps generates such messages as: [13Invalid keyword or value in \special - ""17169039" ignored Invalid keyword or value in \special - ""endTexFig"" ignored and the figures come out on the page, but overlap the text. Basically I'm a quite elementary user of tex/latex/psfig and just want to print the document without getting into all the details. Can anybody tell me what the magic combination of commands & files is needed? -- Ralph Finch 916-445-0088 rfinch@water.ca.gov ...ucbvax!ucdavis!caldwr!rfinch Any opinions expressed are my own; they do not represent the DWR
