Prof. Klaus Lagally, who is at the Institut f"ur Informatik of the Universit"at Stuttgart, announces his TeX addendum ArabTeX, which is a PD macro package adapted to the specific needs of typesetting Arabic. The distribution version will include the Metafont sources for the Arabic letters (plus Parsi). The package is intended to be compatible with LaTeX (a subject still under testing).
