I am looking for a dvi file specifically for the HPLJ II P. This is the 'toy' personal laser printer. We have been using the regular HPLJ II dvi/pti drivers that came with the version of PC-TeX we have. The problem is, with larger, more complex files, the characters sometimes overlap (two or three chars on top of each other), weird space is left, or characters print incorrectly (like a bold, wide theta instead of the skinny, normal math theta). As you can imagine we put out a lot of math equations here. My thinking is that the II P, being slower, can't handle the input, even if it has been copied in smaller chunks to the printer...I am no expert at this sort of interface thing, and I am in no way qualified to write something like this. I'll summarize and post the responses I get. Thanks a lot! =Dino= nadine@stat.tamu.edu -=- 'Planning is for people who can't adapt.'
