I have had problems downloading macmakeindex.sit and bibstack.sit from the tex/macintosh/bibtex directory of ymir.claremont.edu. They are supposedly in macbinary format, but my software does not recognize them as such. I FTP'd them in binary mode and then downloaded to my mac in MacBinary mode, but Stuffit could not open them. Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks Norm swenson@aerospace.aero.org

I think it is hopeless to try downloading these *.sit files. The original *.hqx files can be downloaded form midway.uchicago.edu; althought I believe bibtex.hqx is on ymir.claremont.edu. I uploaded the macmakeindex.hqx to the ymir ftp machine, but I don't know if Don Hosek moved it into the proper directory. The *.hqx files are ASCII translations of the binary *.sit files. Use StuffIt to De-BinHex the *.hqx files into *.sit files and then StuffIt again to go from *.sit to double-clickable applications. --Len Schwer schwer@unix.sri.com

Can anyone give me any pointers? (Or mail me a binhex'ed version?) Thanks Norm swenson@isl.stanford.edu
