Hi, Someone posted that msxm and msym fonts have been replaced by msam and msbm fonts. I have a dvi file that used to complain about missing msxm and msym fonts (which I couldn't find anywhere) when I ran it through xtex. So I got msam and msbm and renamed it msxm and msym respectively and also changed `font_identifier' in these files appropriately. Now xtex no longer complains about missing fonts, but the output doesn't look right (as compared to the hard-copy output through postscript laserwriter - the output is supposed to contain all kinds of symbols: <,>,>=,~,etc). What do I have to do other than what I have already done and putting these fonts in the appropriate font directory? Also, how does tex (when creating a dvi file) decide what font to use? There are references to msxm and msym fonts in the .dvi file (that why I renamed the font files) but not .tex file. I'm really a novice at this, so any help, suggestion, explanation, would be appreciated. Thanks.
