I need to generate a glossary in LaTeX. I remember seeing
something called GloTeX. I found such a beast on ymir.claremont.edu,
but after reading AAAREADME*, I found that it's written in VAX C.
Cautions were given about non-portability.
1. Do I really need glotex? The LaTeX book is fairly vague on
the topic of glossaries. This is probably a one-time need for
a glossary, and I'm a programmer type (C, awk, sed), so...
can I get by without it?
2. Do I give the word's meaning as an argument, or do I go back and
edit the .glo file? What's the procedure here?
3. What does this mean?
% SURPRISE: \index, \glossary, and \label are no-ops inside an
% \addcontentsline or \addtocontents command argument. This could cause a
% problem if the user puts an \index or \label into one of the commands he
% writes, or into the optional 'short version' argument of a \section or
% \caption command.
4. If I need glotex, where can I find it for a BSDish environment
(SunOS)?
Thanks,
