This is a summary of the responses I have recieved so far for converting TeX documents to text. The best pointers were to 'dvidoc' which worked for me. I couldn't find it in any of the archives, so I took the one that r-wargaski@nwu.edu mailed me and put it out for anonymous FTP on nicol.jvnc.net:pub/dvidoc.tar.Z I was hoping to find the 'originating' site for this code so that I could find any latest updates, etc. so please let me know if anyone knows the whereabouts of the latest version. Someone also mentioned the GNU latexinfo/texinfo which comes with the emacs distribution but 'texinfo' seems to be another language of its own and I couldn't find 'latexinfo' anywhere.
