[comp.text.tex] Will Textures work with GCC laser printers?

beausol@milton.u.washington.edu (Raymond Beausoleil) (06/21/91)

After reading the glowing review on page 43 of the June 11 MacWeek, I have
decided to buy the GCC BLP Elite PostScript laser printer. It is currently
being offered by Mac and MORE (1-800-622-0052) for $1399.

HOWEVER, before I do, I'd like to make sure that this printer will work
properly with Textures; in particular, I use the PostScript Type 1 CM fonts.
Has anyone noticed any incompatibility between Textures and the BLP Elite, or
any other GCC printer that uses the Oki Electric engine (such as the GCC PLP II
and GCC BLP II series)?

Finally, can anyone tell me whether or not the 2 Mb RAM in the BLP Elite will
be sufficient for Textures (using the downloadable CM/PS fonts), or must I pop
for the upgrade to 4 Mb?

Thank you in advance. If there is sufficient interest, then I will post a
summary.
