Administrivia (once again): This Friday, June 28, 1991, we will be taking the entire SHSU cluster on the BITNET side down as we unplug our trusty 8650 (which has been a real workhorse) and our now-sooo-slow 11/785 (it used to be a marvel, but...) and replace them with a brand-spanking-new 6420. While Computer Services crates and uncrates their toys (errr, hardware), they will be upgrading our MultiNet TCP/IP software to version 3.0, so the Internet side of our cluster will also be down. Accordingly, neither mail nor ftp service will be available at our site from early on Friday morning (Central Daylight Time, U.S.) until late that day (don't know the precise times). While posts to INFO-TeX and file requests to FILESERV are never discouraged, we do ask that you please consider this, preferably minimizing your posts to SHSU.BITNET and SHSU.edu that day. I trust everything will be queued appropriately, but really don't want to think about the implications of a huge backlog of work when the new machine comes on-line.
